House incinerated by blaze in Napier
Saturday, 30 March 2019
A huge fire has incinerated a family home in Napier, but nobody was injured.
Fire service communications shift manager Chris Dalton said the service was called to the blaze, in the Napier suburb of Te Awa, about 11.15pm on Friday.
'It was a house fire, everybody was out of the house.'
The house was on Creagh St. The fire service was at the scene from 11.15pm to about 3am Saturday, Dalton said.

'I believe the house was pretty badly damaged.'
There was a fire service scene guard at the property, and firefighters were working to dampen down hot spots at the property further on Saturday morning.
A police spokeswoman said police also attended the blaze.
Police were speaking with one person at the scene, and assisting fire crews with further inquiries into what happened, she said.
A neighbour of the property, Charley Horiana, said she lived across from the Te Awa shops and could see the house 'up in flames'.
It took 'quite some time' before fire crews arrived at the scene, and she was aware of the house's owner being on the phone Friday night saying: 'My house [has] gone up in flames', she said.
Horiana said the back of the house was 'fully gutted out', and the blaze also caught onto a neighbouring property's back room.
It was 'very lucky' everybody got out safely, she said.
