Fire crews have controlled burn-off fire on farm near Te Anau

An out-of-control burn-off that was threatening a house at the Kingswood farm off Kakapo Rd, Te Anau, has been brought under control.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said the fire started early Thursday morning,

Two fire crews from Te Anau and one from Mossburn were sent to the scene at 1pm.

The spokesman said firefighters spent 30 minutes putting out the bulk of the fire and spent the next hour damping the area.

Firefighter left the scene at 2:30pm.
