Teen killed in Whangamoa Saddle crash

An 18-year-old Nelson man has been revealed as the person killed in a crash on the winding Whangamoa Saddle this week.

Police said in a statement that Cameron Alexander Anderson died in the crash on State Highway 6 between Rai Valley and Hira about 12.40pm on Wednesday.

'Police offer their sympathies to his families and friends at this time,' they said.

The crash closed the road between Hira and Rai Valley for several hours on Wednesday afternoon.

Anderson's vehicle was the only one involved in crash, police said at the time.

The serious crash unit is investigating.
