Hyundai's largest SUV is here
Friday, 15 January 2021
Following hot on the heels of the extensively refreshed Santa Fe, Hyundai’s upper-large SUV kingpin, the Palisade, has landed in New Zealand, along with pricing and final specifications.
Although it was initially designed for the American market, Hyundai says the right-hand drive Palisade was developed primarily for Australasia, with “a focus on delivering superb safety, stability and dynamics for our unique tastes and conditions.”
Two powertrains will be on offer, a 3.8-litre V6 and a 2.2 turbocharged diesel four-cylinder. The former makes 217kW/355Nm and powers the front wheels while the latter produces 147kW/440Nm, sent to all four wheels. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
“The all-new Hyundai Palisade has a certain presence about it, making it worthy of Hyundai’s flagship SUV. Palisade indulges on every level – from space to connectivity to capability, all packaged in a cutting-edge design,” said Hyundai New Zealand General Manager, Andy Sinclair.
