Some fans wanting to attend the All Blacks’ first test at One New Zealand Stadium in Christchurch in July are out of luck, after tickets were snapped up in a matter of hours.
New Zealand Rugby said in a statement on Wednesday that the July 4 test against France (7.10pm kickoff) at the 30,000-capacity stadium was officially a sellout.
All available tickets sold in just four hours through phased pre-sale and general-sale windows, for what will be new coach Dave Rennie’s first match at the helm of the All Blacks since succeeding Scott Robertson.
NZR said a limited number of hospitality packages remained available, and a small allocation of tickets may be released closer to the match.
The inaugural Nations Championship test will be the All Blacks’ first at the new stadium, which stages its first big rugby match on Anzac weekend.
The Crusaders will grace the stadium for the first time against the Waratahs on Friday April 24, to kick off Super Rugby Pacific’s super round which features 10 teams across three days.
Tickets remain available for the final two All Blacks home Nations Championship tests against Italy at Hnry Stadium in Wellington on July 11, and Ireland at Eden Park in Auckland on July 18.
