Wanaka winner scoops $12 million double win of Powerball and Division One prizes

Somebody has won $12 million in Saturday's Lotto draw.

One lucky lotto punter has scooped $12.1m, after winning first division and Powerball.

The winning ticket was sold to a New World supermarket shopper in the small tourist town of Wanaka.

The winner's total prize was made up of $12 million from Powerball First Division and $166,667 from Lotto First Division.

This was the second time Powerball was won in June, after a Hamilton man took home $9.3 million.

Five other players from around the country have also won $166,667 with Lotto First Division in Saturday's draw.

Those tickets were sold at Auckland's Valentines Stationers, Auckland's Palomino Supervalue, MyLotto in Auckland, Palmerston North's Inner City Post & Lotto and Dunedin's Centre City New World.

Strike Four rolled over and would jackpot to $700,000 on Wednesday, where it must be won.

The winning Lotto numbers were 12, 16, 23, 29, 31 and 39. The bonus ball was 25, and the Powerball was 1.
