A lucky Lotto player has won $28 million.

A single ticket has scooped Lotto’s $28 million Powerball jackpot.

It is the biggest prize handed out so far in 2026.

The winning numbers were 1, 9, 36, 13, 11 and 4. The bonus ball was 24 and the Powerball 9.

Lotto NZ confirmed the winning ticket was sold at Four Square Netherby in Ashburton.

The lucky punter also won $200,000 after splitting the $1 million Lotto Division 1 prize with four others, taking their total winnings to $28.2 million.

Strike Four was also won by a single player, who will take home $200,000. They bought their ticket at Night ‘n Day Park in Timaru.

Twenty one others won $17,369 with Lotto Division 2.
