A woman who was swept from the rocks at Ninety Mile Beach is safe and well.

Police were called to Ninety Mile Beach near Cape Reinga in Northland about 5.45pm on Saturday after reports people were swept from the rocks.

When crews arrived at 6.15pm they discovered the woman had made her way to shore safely, a police spokeswoman told Stuff.
