Police release name of motorcyclist killed in Rai Valley crash

Police have released the name of the man who died following a crash in the Rai Valley on Sunday.

Rai Valley man Christopher David Heads, 69, was killed after his motorcycle had a collision with a car on Bulford Rd near State Highway 6. 

A police spokesman said the crash happened about 11am on Sunday.

Fire crews, police and paramedics attended the scene of the crash, but Heads did not recover from his injuries.

Heads was the second person to die on Tasman roads within the past week.

On Wednesday, 18-year-old Cameron Alexander Anderson died in a single car on SH6 between Rai Valley and Hira.
