Man dies on Banks Peninsula in possible workplace incident

A man has died in a possible workplace incident on Banks Peninsula in Canterbury.
Police say the man was understood to be working in the area and operating a tractor.
Police and St John were called to the Le Bons Bay area, about 90 kilometres south of Christchurch, about 2.15pm on Monday.
'The exact circumstances of his death are still being determined and support is being given to his family,' a police spokeswoman said.
WorkSafe had been notified and was making initial inquiries, a spokeswoman said.
