People killed in Te Pohue crash named

Two people died in the crash, north of Napier, on Saturday afternoon.

Police have named the two people who died in a crash on the Napier-Taupō road on Saturday.

Maja Eve Sanders, aged 20, and 19-year-old Joshua Van Hooijdonk, both from Hastings, died in the two vehicle crash, which took place northwest of Napier on Saturday afternoon.

A third person injured in the crash is still critical in Hawke's Bay Hospital.

Police said in a statement that inquiries into the circumstances of the crash were ongoing.
