One dead following serious crash on State Highway 10 in Northland

One person has died following a serious crash involving two vehicles in Northland.

Police were called to the scene on State Highway 10 in Mangonui in the Far North district just after 10am on Tuesday.

A spokeswoman said one vehicle rolled and a person died at the scene.

'[Another] person has serious injuries and a third person has moderate injuries and they are being taken to hospital,' the spokeswoman said.

'Part of [the] road is currently closed in both directions and diversions are in place.'

Police said motorists are advised to expect delays and be patient while emergency services remain at the scene.
