Four people escape injury after car crashes down bank near Nelson

Firefighters helped four people get out of a car after it crashed over a bank near Nelson.

No-one was injured in the incident, which happened just before 10.45pm on Thursday night along the Richmond Deviation section of State Highway 6.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand shift manager Brent Dunn said two crews from Richmond stabilised the vehicle before helping the occupants get out.

Police and ambulance crews also attended.
