Person dead after motorcycle crash at Rai Valley near Nelson

The crash happened on Bulford Rd, off State Highway 6, in the Rai Valley.

A person has died after a crash between a motorcycle and a car in the Rai Valley near Nelson.

The incident happened about 11am on Sunday, a police spokesperson said.

No-one was trapped but two fire crews were at the scene helping police and paramedics, Fire and Emergency NZ southern communications shift manager Simon Lyford said.

Lyford said the crash happened on Bulford Rd, near State Highway 6 in the Rai Valley.

The Serious Crash Unit is at the scene investigating and motorists are advised to expect delays.
