4.1-magnitude quake felt across lower North Island

People across the lower North Island have reported feeling an early morning 4.1-magnitude earthquake, centred 20 kilometres south of Wellington.
The quake struck at 3.38am on Tuesday and was centred at a depth of 38km, GeoNet said.
By 6.20am it had received 1244 felt reports, a large number of them from Wellington.
Some reports also came in from Nelson and Picton.
There were also several tweets on social media site Twitter describing the quake's impact.
