Tuesday, 16 October 2018
A man killed when his car collided with a tourist bus in Queenstown had been living in New Zealand for the past seven years.
New Zealand-based newspaper The Indian Weekender said Harpreet Singh, 25, of India, had worked at Mitre 10 Mega in Queenstown for the past six months.
Singh died when the car he was driving collided with a Southern Discoveries tourist bus carrying 14 passengers, on SH6 just south of Queenstown, on Sunday.
Police had said it appeared he had crossed the centre line.
Singh previously worked in Auckland after arriving in the country as a student seven years ago, the paper said.
His grandfather, Nirmal Bhatti, also lived in New Zealand and said the family had lost a 'gem'.
