Lucky Auckland lotto winner comes away with $6.3m win
Saturday, 25 August 2018
An Auckland Lotto player will pocket a cool $6.3 million after winning Saturday's Powerball First Division.
The winner bought their ticket through Lotto New Zealand's app MyLotto - the second player to win big this week.
A player from Central Otago won $22.3 million in Powerball last week, said Lotto spokeswoman Kirsten Robinson.
The Central Otago winner was a 'young man' and scored the biggest Powerball prize in the South Island, she said.

He had 'bought his winning ticket on a whim through the Lotto NZ App, and couldn't quite believe his luck and plans to use the money set himself up for the future,' she said.
Saturday's draw also yielded big results for two First Division winners who bought tickets at Whanga Books in Whangamata and Paper Plus in Waipukurau, and can each claim $333,333.
Robinson said Strike Four rolled over in the Saturday draw, so $200,000 will be in the pot for Wednesday's draw.
