Firefighters from across the Bay of Plenty battle sawmill blaze near Taupo

Firefighters remain on standby at the scene of a large blaze at a Bay of Plenty sawmill overnight.
Ten fire trucks from around Taupo, Rotorua and Kinloch were sent to the blaze at the mill in the small in the small settlement of Mihi, 26 km northeast of Taupo, on Wednesday night.
At least 14 firefighters battled the blaze that took around two hours to get under control.
The fire was inside the sawmill which is 6 metres high and 40 by 10m in size, Northern Fire Communications shift manager Daniel Nicholson said.
A fire investigator was requested and expected to begin investigations at the site on Mangamingi Rd on Thursday, he said.
