The most expensive car in New Zealand sits in an Auckland showroom, waiting for its next super-rich owner.
At $4 million, the limited edition Aston Martin One-77 is being touted as the most expensive car currently for sale in New Zealand.
A mere handful of the limited edition 'hypercar' exists in the world.
'It's very rare, just 77 were made and this is one of only a dozen made with right-hand drive,' said a marketing representative with Giltrap Group, which is selling the car at its Great North Rd showroom in Auckland.

He said $4 million was the going rate for One-77s, and that the car was being marketed internationally as well as domestically.
'As far as we're aware, it's the most expensive car for sale in New Zealand at the moment,' he said.
The 2011 One-77 can reach 100kmph from zero in just 3.7 seconds and travels up to 354kmph. It weighs 1630kg, has a whopping 7.3L V12 engine, and a carbon fibre monocoque structure.
Despite being eight years old, the luxury wagon has driven only 9,500km.
'But that's actually a lot, for a car like this', said the rep.
'I know of a gent with a Lamborghini from the '70s that's done less.'
One model was written off in Hong Kong in 2012. Another has been kitted out with flashing lights to serve in the Dubai Police Force.
Aston Martin One-77s were developed in 2009, and production stopped in 2012. This one was bought new for $2.8 million by the late Neil Graham of Christchurch, co-founder of global logistics business Mainfreight, and has had two owners since.
Meanwhile, a $4.2 million Aston Martin Vulcan, designed only for the track, resides at the Highlands Motorsport Complex in Cromwell.
While you could buy a Herne Bay mansion for around the same price, the values of these Astons pale in comparison to the most expensive cars in New Zealand — that are not currently for sale.
They are two Mclaren F1s, valued between $20 million and $25 million each, one of which crashed into a Queenstown ditch in December last year.
