New Range Rover pricing confirmed for New Zealand

Land Rover has revealed the all-new fifth-generation Range Rover.

Land Rover New Zealand has revealed prices for the all-new Range Rover due to land here in the middle of this year. A range of diesel and petrol models will initially make up the range, while plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models will follow shortly after.

The D300 and D350 models are powered by Range Rover’s 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder diesel engine in different states of tune, while the P530 gets the company’s all-new BMW-supplied twin-turbo petrol V8. The PHEV P510e models combine Land Rover’s inline six-cylinder petrol engine with a 38.2kWh lithium-ion battery and a 105kW electric motor integrated with the transmission.

The short wheelbase D300 SE starts the range at $209,900, while two SWB HSE models come next, with the D350 HSE landing at $239,900, while the P530 HSE will cost $254,900. Upgrading the P530 to First Edition or SV spec will cost $289,900 and $339,900 respectively.

The first shipment of all-new Range Rovers will land in New Zealand in the middle of this year.

Three versions of the plug-in hybrid P510e will also be offered; the HSE at $269,900, the Autobiography at $294,900 and the SV at $359,900.

Then there are the long wheelbase models, for the first time featuring seven-seat variants. The LWB D350 HSE seven-seater kicks off the stretched range at $249,900, while the P530 Autobiography will land at $279,900, or $284,900 for the seven-seat version. Topping the range is the LWB P530 SV at $384,900.

This means that while the range topping models are priced in excess of that current Range Rover, the entry models are cheaper.

Land Rover has also announced a number of other PHEV models that will be joining its range later in the year, including the Evoque P300e R-Dynamic SE ($117,900) and a pair of Velar P400e R-Dynamic models (the $139,900 SE and the $149,900 HSE).

According to Land Rover the Evoque PHEV will have 55kms of pure electric range and Velar PHEV will have 53kms. The full-size Range Rover, however, will have up to 113km of range, with an expected real world range of at least 80km.

“Unsurprisingly, the new Range Rover broke a record with over 60 pre-sales made just hours after its reveal to New Zealand customers – we expect this demand to skyrocket again when the vehicle launches in the country.”

The first shipment of new Range Rovers is expected to arrive in New Zealand from mid-2022, with Range Rover SV and PHEV models arriving later in the year. Kenchington says the company is hoping to secure a large allocation of production following the overwhelming demand for the vehicle.

The Evoque and Velar PHEV variants will launch in New Zealand in May and are available to order now.
