Hyundai teases fourth-generation Tucson

Hyundai will reveal its fourth generation Tucson with a digital world premiere on September 15 and has stirred up some anticipation with new teaser images released today.

The pictures offer a clue to new Tucson’s design highlights including the latest evolution of Hyundai’s signature headlamp architecture called “Parametric Hidden Lights’’ along with a new dual cockpit layout.

Those lights provide a strong first impression with signature daytime running lights seamlessly integrated into the jewel-like grille.

The new Tucson will be longer and wider than previous generation models, offering a long bonnet and short overhangs on a stretched wheelbase.

From the side, angular body panels offer yet another interpretation of this parametric design with chiselled surfaces, and angular wheel arches.

Inside is a new lower-mounted instrument display which leads to a more minimal appearance.

The broad ridge of the dashboard blends seamlessly with the doors to wrap around the front occupants while Hyundai says that the vertically oriented forms of the fully integrated centre fascia was inspired by waterfalls.

In New Zealand the Tucson has been Hyundai’s top-selling model in recent years and contributed almost one-third of the brand’s passenger/SUV sales in 2019.
