Ken Block reveals new drift monster

Ken Block has revealed his new tyre mincing machine via Youtube.
Called 'Hoonifox,' it's just a bunch of renders for now but Block is keen on creating the thing as soon as coronavirus restrictions lift.
The drifter was originally thought up to do a Miami Vice-inspired video, replacing the iconic white Lamborghini Countach with a Ford Mustang of the era. That means Fox-body.
Somehow, we get the feeling more power will be on tap than the 168kW of the late 1980s V8. Block didn't go into details, probably because even he doesn't know what the final power output will be, but that huge intake poking out of the bonnet suggests the Hoonifox will at least equal the Hoonicorn, which makes 1044kW/1695Nm.

The design comes from Ash Thorp, who helped create the new Batmobile for the upcoming reboot The Batman, due to release next year.
Thorp and Block worked together and found inspiration from a variety of Fox-body Mustangs, including race cars and custom-tuned examples. Aside from the massive bonnet scoop, we can see a strip of vents on each front fender for throwing out bits of spent rubber, a DTM-inspired rear spoiler sitting just aft of some period-correct louvres and a side-exit exhaust pipe sitting just beneath the driver's door.
Block said possible powertrain candidates include an Ecoboost V6, a naturally aspirated Roush Yates-built V8 or even the pure-electric system from the Mustang Mach-E (probably tweaked for more power), though that would negate the need for the massive intake.
Whatever ends up under the hood will direct its energy to all four wheels through a 'rally-spec' all-wheel drive system.
“I absolutely want to build the Hoonifox,' he said in a statement. 'And do a Gymkhana video with it, of course. And, do it in an Eighties Miami Vice-style version if it. Down in Miami. There you have it—my current wish list!”
