Every year you have a birthday and every year you grow older. Your birthday is a great time to reflect on the past year and look forward to the year ahead.
For Brodie Kane, turning 38 brings a sense of peace.
“I think it’s going to be another great age to be honest with you.”
When, Tegan Yorwarth, Kane’s co-host on The Girls Uninterrupted podcast, asked what advice she’d give to her younger self, Kane emphasized the importance of learning to be vulnerable.
“Because if you don’t allow yourself to be vulnerable… The minute something else comes in, you almost don’t know how to handle it.”
Yorwarth agreed with Kane’s sentiment and shared her own experience from last year when she was forced to be vulnerable.
After injuring her back, Yorwarth had to rely on her mum and partner for basic everyday activities and chores.
“For a week, my boyfriend was doing everything for me, sometimes helping me put my pants on because I couldn’t reach them from the ground.”
Through this experience Yorwarth realised that it’s okay to ask for help.
