An intensive care paramedic and helicopter emergency medical services doctor accompanied the man to Auckland City Hospital, the spokesman said.
On Wednesday, police said it had attended the 'workplace incident'.
A police spokesman said the man's death would be forwarded to the coroner and WorkSafe had been notified about the incident.
