House fire in Lynfield, central Auckland

Emergency services are responding to a fire in Lynfield, Auckland.

Firefighters are tackling a 'well involved' blaze in central Auckland.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand shift manager Paul Radden said there was a 'well involved' house fire on Commodore Drive in Lynfield, on Friday evening.

The fire had begun in the lounge, Radden said.

Twenty firefighters and five fire trucks were sent to the scene at 5.30pm after receiving multiple calls, he said.

A police spokeswoman said police were advised of the house fire.
