New Zealand golfer Ryan Fox is in a five-way share for eighth after the first round of the latest PGA tour event in Dublin, Ohio.

Americans Wyndham Clark, US Open champion J.J. Spaun, and Ryan Gerard, along with English golfer Tommy Fleetwood finished at 5-under 67 to sit in a share of first.

Only 22 players broke par at Muirfield Village, including Fox, who fired a 2-under par 70, to sit three shots back from the leaders.

Sam Burns and Justin Rose are two shots off the pace, while Canadian golfer Nick Taylor at 4-under is just one shot off the pace.

Meanwhile, New Zealand’s Dame Lydia Ko had a challenging first day at the US Women’s Open at Pacific Palisades in California.

Ko, who parred her first ten holes, is tied for 85th after firing a 3 over par round of 74.

Ko picked up a birdie at the 11th, then went out of bounds from her tee on the next hole to score a double bogey on the 12th. She picked up two more bogeys on the back nine

The leader after the first round is American Jennifer Kupcho, who is 5 under with a round of 66.
