Eleven New Zealanders left Gaza via the Rafah crossing overnight.

They were met by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s (MFAT) Egypt consular team and provided with immediate support.

MFAT said it was working “around the clock” to get the remaining New Zealand citizens and permanent residents out of Gaza.

Last week it said 20 New Zealanders were trying to leave Gaza.

The exit of foreigners through the Rafah border crossing began earlier this month, but the number of people passing through has been limited.
