Portugal v Slovenia result: Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal survive scare to make Euro 2024 quarter-finals

Portugal 0 Slovenia 0 (3-0 on penalties)

Portugal survived a massive scare to advance to the quarter-finals at the European Championships, winning a penalty shoot-out to defeat Slovenia.

Slovenia had a one-on-one chance late in extra-time, while Christiano Ronaldo missed a penalty in extra-time, before Portugal dominated the shootout.

Slovenia failed to convert their three penalty attempts while Portugal were perfect.

They will face France in the quarter-finals on Saturday morning in a replay of the 2016 final.
