Victoria Beckham designs Mel C’s wedding dresses as Spice Girls reunite

The Spice Girls reunited over the weekend in Cumbria for Melanie C’s wedding - and while Victoria Beckham was the only one who missed the event, she was part of it in a special way.

The bride married Australian model and actor Chris Dingwall in the Lake District and she wore a custom gown from Victoria Beckham’s collection.

Sporty Spice revealed that the couple officially tied the knot in a civil ceremony in Sydney before their second ceremony in England.

For the official ceremony, a few weeks ago, Mel C borrowed a dress from Victoria Beckham’s closet, as she said she did not have time to alter her own.

She then wore a custom Victoria Beckham gown for her Cumbria nuptials.

The bride wore Victoria Beckham dresses for both ceremonies.

“Victoria’s dress was my ‘something borrowed’,” Mel C told British Vogue of her dress for the official ceremony in Australia. “It was very special, having her there,” she said.

For the UK wedding celebration, Beckham designed a piece inspired by that first slip dress, with an added train and a lace-stitched applique design on the bodice and skirt.

The bride then changed into a Sporty Spice tracksuit for the reception.

Posh Spice, now Lady Victoria Beckham, could not attend the wedding as the was in the US with husband Sir David Beckham for the Fifa World Cup Final.

The remaining members of the girl group reunited at the wedding, with Geri Horner, Melanie B and Emma Bunton all in attendance.

According to the Daily Mail, Mel C’s 17-year-old daughter Scarlett was her bridesmaid.

Mel C, full name Melanie Chisholm, and now-husband Chris Dingwall made their relationship public at the Glastonbury Festival in 2024.

The former Sporty Spice has recently released her ninth solo album, called Sweat. The newlywed is about to go embark on a world tour, which will end in November in Australia.
